Victoria is home to many golf tournaments which attracts players from the local and overseas golfing fraternity. The championship Donald Steel designed golf course is a challenge to play. The course is maintained to USGA standards and weather in Sri Lanka allows golfing through the year. All golfers with a recognized CONGU handicap are eligible to take part in the tournaments at Victoria.

Victoria Anniversary Trophy
The Victoria Golf and Country Resort officially opened its doors to play in January 1999. To coincide with this celebration of ten years as the Region’s best Golf Course & Golf. Resorts the team at Victoria have put together the Victoria Anniversary Trophy.
The 11th Donald Steel Trophy 2009
The Victoria Golf and Country Resort is once again the host venue Of the Donald Steel Trophy. To be played over 36 holes on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of February 2009 this stableford format competition celebrates it’s 11th Year.
Sri Lankan Golf Classic
This is the island's premier golf tournament, held in October attracts over 200 golfers. This truly international event features four days of golf with golfers of all abilities competing for numerous prizes including airline tickets to all Sri Lankan Airlines destinations around the world. A gala dinner dance and a lavish floor show complete the week's festivities. Non golfers too are offered a variety of tours to wild life parks and historic and cultural sites. The Sri Lankan Golf Classic 2008 is schedule for mid October.
