Victoria Nature Treks are a set of exciting and carefully curated experiences offered by our resort for guests who love the great outdoors.These trekking excursions are one of the best things to do in Digana and will be a great way to revitalize your mind and soul.The ethereal views you witness during the trek will surely leave you in awe and will be an experience that you will cherish for a lifetime.

The trekking region teems with a variety of wildlife which includes 107 species of birds along with three species of deer, mongooses, fishing cats, porcupines and many other magnificent creatures of the wild.Admire nature’s spectacular creations,listen to the sounds of birds chirping, trickling of water and the serene sounds of the leaves dancing in the wind while being surrounded by tranquility as you walk along the nature trails.

Located in the midst of a tranquil and serene ambience there are two nature trails located close to our resort premises that are designated for trekking, known as Mahaweli and Araliya Trails. Walk along these pathways with nature greeting you with its immaculate views around you.

The Mahaweli Trail

The Mahaweli Trail spans across 4 kilometres and you might need two to three hours of time to fully explore the region. The trail goes along the Mahaweli River branch of the Victoria Reservoir and takes you past lush greenery, shrublands and a woodland along with glimpses of harmless wildlife in the area.

Aralia Trail

The Araliya Trail being shorter in comparison extends for 3 kilometres and will take approximately 2 hours for exploration. This trail takes you through the outskirts of the golf course and into a secondary forest to a clearing area that features a viewpoint named the “Aralia Deck”. This viewpoint offers hikers a splendid panoramic view of the Victoria Reservoir and it certainly is the highlight of the whole excursion.
